Training of trainers on Business Case Development

Ghana - 10 June, 2022

“I’ve heard a lot about Green Businesses in Sefwi-Wiawso where you [Tropenbos Ghana] operate, but unfortunately, I have not availed myself to learn what exactly it is. When I got the invitation to attend this Business Case Development workshop, I was happy because I knew it was an opportunity to learn more about Green Businesses and also, how best I can contribute to climate-resilient businesses in my region,” – Mr Stephen Kwame Yeboah-Mantey (Western North Regional Director of the Ghana Enterprise Agency)

Mr Yeboah-Mantey made the remark at the Business Case Development workshop held at the Anita Hotel in Kumasi under the Mobilizing More for Climate (MoMo4C) programme. The workshop is one of the strategies being used to promote Climate Resilient Business Cases. It was organized for 10 selected staff from the Business Advisory Centres (BAC) and Business Resource Centres (BRC) in the Sefwi Wiawso - Juaboso - Bia landscape to strengthen their capacity to support youth and women in developing or formulating bankable business cases. Description of a Business Case, Components of a Business Case, Bankable Business Case, and Elements of a Business Case were some of the topics covered.

Participants expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the capacity-building workshop. Mr Samuel Agyemang, Head of Sefwi-Wiawso BAC thanked Tropenbos Ghana for putting together the workshop. He went on to say; “I came to learn more about financial appraisals and I’m very happy you taught me that. Now, I can go to my Assembly having been equipped with much knowledge to impact lives while promoting climate-resilient businesses”.
